It’s in the shed located at the back of the House of Arts’ garden in Malakoff that we have created an observatory- installation. This incongruous and even mysterious place, because of its dimensions and original function, was the shelter of our galaxy, housing cosmological images (a pla- net, moons, the sky and the desert) but also a projection, mirrors, bits of string. This proposition questions the archi- tecture of this shed and reveals its fictional and playful potential. Two spectators could observe the interior of the shed each one through a window, thus being at the same time separated and reunited in some intimate distance. The space then becomes favorable to contemplation but also to encounter, for the spectator is explicitly put in the active position of a voyeur.
Changeant, climatique, ce micro-paysage s’inscrit dans une temporalité. Il évoque des images archaïques, cosmologiques : une planète, des lunes, le ciel, un désert. Mais ces images sont données à voir en même temps que le dispositif de leur création : une projection, des miroirs, quelques bouts de ficelle. Entre expérience cinématographique et sculpture, entre engagement et mise à distance du corps, cette proposition interroge l’architecture de cette cabane et met en évidence son potentiel fictionnel.
